Function

APF/SVG is a flexible power converter. It first measures the reactive current and harmonic current generated by the load, and then generates a new reactive current and harmonic current with the same amplitude and opposite phase, thereby eliminating most of the reactive current and harmonic current in the power grid.

Difference

APF is a harmonic compensation device used to eliminate harmonics in the system.

SVG is a static reactive power compensation device used to improve the system power factor.

Composition

The APF/SVG system mainly includes the main contactor KM1, pre-charge contactor KM2, pre-charge resistor R, filter inductor L, voltage-type PWM rectifier bridge (VSR), and DC bus capacitor C, etc.
