Recently, the Datang Chifeng Kangjiaying 150 MW/600 MWh grid-side independent new energy storage power station demonstration project was successfully connected to the grid and started generating electricity, marking the official operation of the first new energy storage power station project in Eastern Mongolia.

It is reported that the Datang Chifeng Kangjiaying 150 MW/600 MWh grid-side independent new energy storage power station demonstration project has a total investment of 620 million yuan. It is equipped with a 600 MWh lithium iron phosphate battery energy storage system. When the grid system needs to be started due to a systemic failure, the grid-side energy storage power station can act as a power source to gradually restore the operation of the power system.
After the operation of this project, it can reduce the peak load in some areas of Chifeng, effectively improve the stability and reliability of new energy power generation, and enhance the flexibility and security of power supply. The project is expected to have an annual power discharge of about 146 million kWh, saving 11,200 tons of standard coal per year and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 33,700 tons.
