During the May Day holiday, the State Grid's smart vehicle internet platform saw a year-on-year increase of over 60% in highway charging volume.

Recent data from the State Grid's smart connected vehicle platform shows that during the 2024 "May Day" holiday (May 1-5), the cumulative charging volume of new energy vehicles on expressways reached 29.1401 million kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 62.53%; expressway charging orders totaled 1.3862 million, a year-on-year increase of 48.21%; and the platform's total registered users exceeded 30 million, setting a new record.

To ensure effective new energy vehicle charging services during the "May Day" holiday, the State Grid formulated a support plan in advance. Combining big data analysis results from the State Grid's smart connected vehicle platform and residents' holiday travel characteristics, 6281 busy charging stations were selected. Special inspections were conducted before the holiday to ensure that charging equipment was in optimal condition; a "May Day" holiday new energy vehicle expressway travel charging guide was released, providing predictions of peak charging hours and queuing stations during holiday expressway travel, helping new energy vehicle owners to plan their travel reasonably.

During the holiday, State Grid Corporation established online and offline support teams. Platform R&D, operation and maintenance, and other support personnel were on duty 24 hours a day, achieving closed-loop control of the operation status of key support station equipment; 8518 person-times of on-site personnel were arranged, completing 10270 station inspections of charging stations; 656 emergency charging devices were deployed to fully meet the charging service needs of new energy vehicle owners. At the same time, the company distributed charging coupons through the "e-charging" APP, using technical and economic means to guide car owners to charge at public charging stations near expressway entrances and exits. The cumulative diversion of expressway charging volume increased by 8.7 times compared to the same period in 2023, reducing the service pressure on expressway stations, reducing waiting time for car owners, and improving car owners' travel experience.
